Karan Kundra saysYeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum Is A Complicated Love Story

TV hottie Karan Kundra is back to the daily grind with & TV Show Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum. Why did you say yes to this project? “It is an Ekta Kapoor rockstar show and the money is great. Unlike other similar performers‘ Rahul Sabarwal is a sweet and mature Sufi singer. Having said that music is just one part of the narrative, there is much more to this complicated love story. We have tried to keep the romance as real as possible Some naysayer’s might ask what’s new in a love story? But the man woman relationship has been the leitmotif of many successful shows, what will separates us from the others is the treatment, do watch out for it.”

Remind him that the ratings are not so great and he says “you need to understand that this new channel is attempting to change the grammar of TV through shows like Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain! Any such experimentation does take time, you don’t expect to hit bull’s eye on day one. In this situation we are getting numbers what we expected.”

Since you are juggling multiple shows (Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum) at the same time how do you manage the dates, “At first the time commitment did spook me. There were initial teething problem’s as well e.g. on my birthday I was doing back to back schedules which did not give me a minute’s free time. But now things are stabilizing.”

How was the experience of the Nat Geo show Life Mein Ek Baar? “Super fun, this English language show is completely different from any stuff I have done till date. It is about living your dreams, an escapade full of adventures, emotions and thrill. I had a blast with Nach Baliye 7 contestant Sana Saeed, Kingfisher Calendar Hunt 2010 winner Himarsha Venkatsamy, and international singer Natalie Di Luccio in Hongkong.”

Remind him about judging super hit show Roadies X2 and his face lit’s up, “Second season goes on floor soon. How time flies it has been a year since the my first season auditions started. One big difference is unlike previous season’s is that there is no unnecessary aggression among the contestant’s. Rather there is lot of love and honor around as we judges (Esha Deol, Rannvijay Singh, Vijender Singh) also mentor the teams.”

Karan who in the middle had taken a Punjabi film’s detour says, “My three home production’s have done well. While continuing to do more regional film’s, I will not want to forget my roots which is television.”
