Intezar, inteha ya ilzaam doon – Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 3

“Intezar, inteha ya ilzaam doon….Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon?”

Chalo itna toh tay hai ki pyaar hai….I mean to say at least there is clarity regarding the fact that there is love, this is a love-story and not a pure unadulterated revenge drama.

The promo shows a beautiful temple illuminated with the lights of numerous diya’s; captured in all its magnificence. We seen see a blurry image of a woman who slowly comes into focus. Enter Chandini (Shivani Tomar) the shows female lead who is shown praying to Devon Ke Dev Mahadev aka Lord Shiva. She is soon joined by the male lead of the show Advay Singh Raizada aka ASR who spares Chandini a passing glace that is filled with a thousand emotions before doing the unthinkable. Engrossed in her prayer, Chandini does not see or realize that her sari’s pallu is inches away from catching fire. But thanks to ASR intentionally shifting the diyas positio, Chandini breks out of her prayer mode to see her sari on fire. She starts screaming while Advay looks on with an impassive expression. After a few seconds Advay removes his suit jacket and puts out the fire and then covers Chandini with the jacket and helps her walk out. While Chandini’s expression conveys shock and confusion, Avday’s face boasts of a stone cold resolve. The promo ends with the question “Intezar, inteha ya ilzaam doon….Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon?”

First things first, so far three promos of Iss Paar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 3 have been aired, and out of the three this is undoubtedly the best one so far for obvious reasons. Firstly the cinematography, which was nothing short of brilliant. Every aspect be it the temple or the lit diya’s or the leads have been captured amazingly well. Secondly we are introduced to the female lead of the show or rather the subject of ASR’s immense hatred, and last but not the least we get a better insight into the character of Advay Singh Raizada. The previous promos show the man to be a lost soul, a wanderer of sorts who is out for vengeance. One could witness the fire of revenge raging within him when he burnt Chandini’s picture in the promo titled ‘Khandar’ (ruins). What this promo shows us is that he will use any weapon in his arsenal and will go that extra mile for the sake of that revenge.

In an interview by Gul Khan with Barun Sobti post the wrap up of IPK-1, it was mentioned that the hero aka Arnav Singh Raizada was a character who was “borderline walking between negative and positive”, and that ASR’s character was “supposed to be more dark than what was shown”. From the looks of it IPK-3 is all set to showcase a hero who is grey-shaded or can cross over to being an anti-hero by shattering the quintessential hero image audiences are used to; with the true challenge being to still keep him in the realms of being a prime time hero.

Though ASR akd Advay is out for revenge and seems to be doing pretty well in getting what he wants; what was symbolic about the promo was the usage of ‘Diya’s’ aka lights. ASR’s actions are guided by a certain darkness that is manifesting itself as vengeance against Chandini, but the numerous lights/diya’s surrounding them symbolizes truth, hope and knowledge. A guiding force that will lead Advay from darkness into light.

It’s not going to be a smooth ride but then what’s the fun in that anyways?

Hate-Love stories have a way to capture the hearts of the viewers, and with time Gul Khan’s latest venture may turn out to be another runaway success especially since she has brought back Barun Sobti who became an overnight sensation with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Season 1.

With so many unanswered questions about Advay’s actions, his hatred towards Chandini, their past connection or simply connection for that matter, and the need for vengeance; IPK 3 has definitely piqued the viewers interest. July 3 the journey starts officially where said questions will start to get their answers. So stay tuned and get ready to embark on a brand new journey filled with nafrat, mohabbat and rabba ve’s.
